Passport
- — Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of your visa application.
- — It must also contain at least 2 blank pages.
Two identity photos
- — These must be in colour, taken against a plain light background, in 35x45mm format and printed on photo paper (as for your identity card or passport).

An official visa application form

- — To fill in the forms online, you will first of all need a photo. It must meet very specific requirements. Here is the link with the requirements:

- — Once you have the physical photo, you will need to scan it according to the following requirements:
- — – JPEG format
- — – between 354×472 and 420×560
- — – between 40 and 120 KB
- — You can then log in to the website that allows you to fill in the form online:

- — Once the form is fully completed, it must be printed and the applicant must then sign and date the first page (at the bottom) and one of the last pages in black ink. While you must be precise when filling it in, certain parts of the form nevertheless do not need to be completed with every detail. A photocopy of the main page of the passport
- — Please make a colour photocopy of the main page of your passport.
- — Applicants who do not hold a Belgian passport must also present a color copy of both sides of their identity card and their residence card in Belgium (if they hold one).
- — Travisum can take care of printing these documents after receiving the images by email.
The return flight reservation
- — • Print a copy of your return flight reservation.
- — • The details of all flights are required when it concerns an itinerary (transit, etc.)
A hotel reservation(s)
- — • Print a copy of your accommodation reservation.
- — • It is important that your name and the dates of stay are shown on the reservation.
Photocopies of previous visas
- — • If you have already travelled to China before, you must make colour photocopies of all your old visas.
- — • If the old visa does not appear in the current passport, the old passport containing the old visa must be presented. Where applicable, a copy of the old visa and of the information page of the old passport may be provided.
- — • The old visas are moreover mandatory for any double- or multiple-entry application. Without copies of the old visas, the applicant will only be eligible for a single entry of 3 months.
Cover letter from the employer
- — • Even if you are travelling for touristic reasons, your employer must certify in a letter that you are travelling to China for strictly… touristic reasons! This is to ensure that you are not going to China for business reasons, etc.
- — • This letter must be written on the company's headed paper.
- — • State the traveller's name, date of birth and passport number, as well as the name and address of the company.
- — • Check that the arrival and departure date of the visited country is also stated and specify the desired visa duration and the number of entries.

Documents to provide for retirees (instead of the employer's presentation letter)
- — Certificate from the Service Féderal des Pensions
- — • You can obtain a certificate by calling the following number 1765 (special pension number). The certificate will be sent to your home.
- — Bank certificate or account statement
- — • Depending on your situation (health-insurance beneficiary, jobseeker, etc.), the China consulate may ask you for proof of funds. This proves that you have sufficient financial resources to travel to China. As a general rule, €1,000 per week of stay and per person is adequate. The bank certificate or bank statement must show your name, the balance and the date. It must be recent, i.e. no more than two weeks before the date the visa application is submitted.
Documents to provide for the self-employed (instead of the employer's presentation letter)
- — Cover letter
- — • Even if you are travelling for touristic reasons, you must certify in a letter that you are travelling to China for strictly… touristic reasons! This is to ensure that you are not going to China for business reasons, etc.

Letter of invitation
- — • This letter must be written by a company or organisation officially registered in China.
- — • This must be addressed to the China application centre.
- — • State the traveller's name, date of birth and passport number.
- — • Check that the arrival and departure date of the destination country is also stated, as well as the desired visa duration and the number of entries.
- — • It is necessary to explain the purpose of the trip and specify the places the traveller will visit.
- — • Also state that the company guarantees all costs related to the stay in China.
- — • The letter must be signed and bear an official company stamp.

Processing time
- — We can handle your application and obtain your visa within 8-12 working days if you opt for the normal procedure. For more urgent applications, opt for express processing which takes 4-6 working days. Rush applications are sometimes possible, contact us for this type of exceptional request.
