Passport
- — • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the return date of your trip. • It must also contain at least 2 blank pages.
Photocopy of the two main pages of the passport
- — • Please make a photocopy of the two main pages of your passport.
Two identity photos
- — • They must be in colour, taken against a plain light background, in 35x45mm format and printed on photo paper (as for your identity card or passport). • You can check whether your photos meet the required criteria using the following document: Photo requirements
Photocopy of the identity card
- — • Make sure to make a double-sided photocopy of your identity card. • Applicants who do not hold a Belgian, Dutch or Luxembourg passport must present a copy of the residence card.
Two visa application forms
- — Travisum can fill in the form for you. Do not hesitate to contact us by email or telephone in this regard.
- — Below are the different steps to fill in the form (to print, date and sign in black ink).
- — Start by downloading and printing two copies of the visa application form using the following link: Democratic Republic of the Congo Form • Fill in the form in capital letters. Be precise. • Fill in all sections, including « Identité du Conjoint(e) » and «Identité des parents du demandeur». • In the section « Données relatives à la demande de visa », note the desired duration of the visa, as well as the number of entries (single, double, multiple). Also write the date on which you plan to arrive in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the place of arrival, for example N’djili airport. • To answer the question « Nom et adresse de la personne hôte… », state the name of the person you are going to visit or the name of the travel agency in the Democratic Republic of the Congo that is organising your stay. • Sign and date the form.
Certificate of good conduct
- — • You can obtain your certificate of good conduct from your municipal office. An original copy is required.
Yellow fever vaccination certificate
- — • If you are not up to date with your vaccinations (vaccination booklet), check with your treating doctor, an approved centre or a hospital. Note that there is a travel clinic (the Travel and Vaccine Clinic of the CHU Saint-Pierre in Brussels) where you can get vaccinated without an appointment.
Hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host
- — • Print a copy of your accommodation reservation or ask your host to write a letter explaining that you plan to stay with them.
Bank certificate or account statement
- — • This is required to prove that you have sufficient funds available to travel to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. As a general rule, €1,000 per week of stay and per person. The bank statement must show your name, the balance and the date (no more than two weeks before the date the visa application is submitted).
Letter of invitation
- — • It must be legalised by the municipal authority or notary of the town of residence of the person issuing the invitation (who must reside in the Democratic Republic of the Congo).
Minor children
- — If you travel with minor children, they must present the following documents:
- — Passport
- — Photocopy of the two main pages of the passport
- — Photocopy of the identity card
- — Two identity photos
- — Two visa application forms
- — In addition to the aforementioned documents, you must also present:
- — Parental authorisation
- — • It must be signed by one of the parents if the child is travelling with the other parent (the father or the mother). • The authorisation must be legalised or issued by the municipal authority of residence of the signing parent(s).
- — Parents' sworn declaration
- — • A sworn statement from both parents must be submitted if the child travels with both parents.

A letter of presentation from the applicant's employer
- — • This letter must be written on the company's headed paper. • State the traveller's name, date of birth and passport number, as well as the name and address of the company. • Check that the arrival and departure date of the visited country is also stated and specify the desired visa duration and the number of entries. • It is important to state that the company guarantees all costs related to the trip, with a company stamp and a signature. • You can download a sample letter of introduction here: Sample letter of introduction
An invitation letter
- — • This letter must be written by a company or organisation officially registered in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. • This must be addressed to the consulate of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Brussels • State the traveller's name, date of birth and passport number. • Check that the arrival and departure date of the destination country is also stated, as well as the desired visa duration and the number of entries. • The letter must be signed and bear an official company stamp • You can download a sample invitation letter here: Sample invitation letter
Processing time
- — We can handle your application and obtain your visa within 8-12 working days if you opt for the normal procedure. For more urgent applications, opt for express processing which takes 4-6 working days. Rush applications are sometimes possible, contact us for this type of exceptional request.
