Documents to provide

Passport
  • • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the return date of your trip.
  • • It must also contain at least 2 blank pages.
Two identity photos
  • • They must be in colour, taken against a plain light background, in 35x45mm format and printed on photo paper (as for your identity card or passport).
  • • Your ears must be clearly visible in the photo.

Photocopy of the identity card
  • • Make sure to make a double-sided photocopy of your identity card.
  • • Applicants who do not hold a Belgian, Dutch or Luxembourg passport must also present their residence card.
Two visa application forms

  • Below are the different steps to fill in the form (to print, date and sign in black ink).
  • Start by downloading and printing two copies of the visa application form using the following link: Djibouti Form
  • Fill in the form in capital letters. Be precise.
  • Carefully complete the sections concerning your contact details, the details of your passport and the identity card.
  • In the section « Nature et durée du visa sollicité », choose whether it concerns a transit visa or a stay visa and note the desired duration of the visa.
  • For the question « Motifs détaillés du voyage », state that you are travelling for tourism and mention a few cities or attractions you will visit.
  • Indicate the place of entry and exit in Djibouti, for example the Djibouti-Ambouli international airport.
  • Also note whether you plan to return to Belgium after your trip or whether you continue to another destination.
  • Date and sign the form.
Copy of the flight tickets
  • • Print a copy of your return flight reservation.
Hotel reservation (ideally the original, otherwise a colour printout)
  • • It must bear a signature and the hotel stamp.
  • • You may also submit a certificate of accommodation issued by the commune in Djibouti. In that case, the hotel reservation is not required.
Minor children
  • If you travel with minor children, they must present all the aforementioned documents and a parental authorisation (most often issued by your municipality). The parental authorisation must be signed by one of the parents if the child travels with the other parent (the father or the mother), and it must also be legalised by a municipal authority of the place of residence of the signatory parent(s).
