Passport
  • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of your visa application.
  • It must also contain at least 2 blank pages.
An identity photo
  • These must be in colour, taken against a plain light background, in 35x45mm format and printed on photo paper (as for your identity card or passport).

An official visa application form

  • Below are the different steps to fill in the form (to print, date and sign in black ink).
  • Fill in the online form using the following link Formulaire de demande pour le Burundi
  • Carefully complete the first part of the form by noting your personal information, including your surname, first name, place and date of birth, nationality, marital status and the names of your parents.
  • Then write the number and validity of your passport.
  • Write your current address and your occupation, as well as your employer's address.
  • Indicate the date and place of entry into Burundi and the duration of your stay.
  • Choose «tourism» from the list of travel purposes.
  • If you have already visited Burundi, write the details of your last stay.
  • State whether several trips are planned.
  • Write the address of your reference or hotel in Burundi.
  • Print, sign and date your application form in black ink.
Copy of the flight tickets
  • Print a copy of your return flight reservation.
  • The details of all flights are required when it concerns an itinerary (transit, etc.)
A legalised invitation
  • You must provide an invitation legalised either by the Ministry of External Relations and International Cooperation, or by the municipality of residence of the inviting person in case of a visit.
