Passport
- — Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the return date of your trip.
- — It must also contain at least 2 blank pages.
Two identity photos
- — It must be in colour, taken against a plain white background, in 35x45mm format and printed on photo paper (as for your identity card or passport).

Two completed and signed application forms

- — Fill in the form in capital letters. Be precise.
- — Complete the first part by noting your personal data. Write your surname, first name, date of birth, place of birth, nationality, gender, marital status, and the names of your parents.
- — Then indicate the number, date and place of issue of your passport, as well as the expiry date.
- — State whether you reside in a country other than your country of origin and whether you are authorized to return to that country.
- — Then indicate your profession.
- — Under the heading «adresse et numéro de téléphone», write your current address and telephone number.
- — Then indicate your destination in Mauritanie, as well as the type of visa, the number of entries and the duration of your stay in Mauritanie.
- — State whether you have obtained other visas in the last five years and their period of validity.
- — Write the countries visited over the last ten years.
- — In case of transit, provide the details about this stay.
- — Then indicate the purpose of your trip to Mauritanie (Tourisme).
- — State the details of a reference person at your hotel in Mauritania.
- — Write the arrival and departure date, your destination in Mauritania, the length of your stay and the means of transport.
- — State who will finance your trip to Mauritania and the means of financing used.
- — If you are married, provide the information about your spouse.
- — If you have minor children written in your passport, write their information in the table.
- — Write the address and telephone number of your home, as well as the address and telephone number of your address in Mauritania.
- — Sign and date your application form.
A copy of the flight tickets
- — Print a copy of your return flight reservation.
Hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host
- — Print a copy of your accommodation reservation or ask your host to write a letter explaining that you plan to stay with them.

A letter of presentation from the applicant's employer
- — This letter must be written on the company's letterhead.
- — You must state the traveller's name, date of birth and passport number, as well as the name and address of the company.
- — Check that the arrival and departure date of the visited country is also mentioned and specify the desired duration of the visa as well as the number of entries.
- — It is important to indicate that the company vouches for all costs related to the journey, with a company stamp and a signature.

An invitation letter
- — This letter must be written by a company or organisation officially registered in Mauritania.
- — This must be addressed to the embassy of Mauritania.
- — You must state the traveller's name, date of birth and passport number.
- — Check that the arrival and departure date of the visited country is also mentioned, as well as the desired duration of the visa and the number of entries.
- — The letter must be signed and have an official company stamp
